Questions
What counts as a project?
Each drawing set you run counts as one project in the month you create it. Opening a saved project again does not count. Deleting a project does not give the count back, so the monthly number is the number of homes you assessed.
Do I need an account?
No. You can run 3 projects without signing up. A free account gives you 15 a month and keeps your projects; anything you ran before signing up moves into your account.
Is this a certified life cycle assessment?
No. CarbonSource gives an A1 to A3 estimate from the drawings for design decisions, screening and conversations with buyers and lenders. Where a city requires a signed assessment, our export is built to be carried into the tools that city accepts, such as BEAM or MCE2.
Which regions does it cover?
All of Canada. The report shows the rules for the region you pick, from the City of Vancouver's Part 9 limit to provinces with no limit yet. United States drawing sets can be read too.
What happens to my drawings?
On the cloud, your drawings and results are stored in your account so you can reopen projects, share them and see every page that was read. On your own servers, everything stays inside your network.
How does licensing work on our own servers?
Your installation checks its licence with us on a schedule. If something needs attention, such as a renewal, your admins see the reason and how to reach us. When a new version is released, admins are told and can update when it suits them.
Can I use my own carbon data?
Yes. Any account can import a factor database as a JSON file, and organisations can set one for the whole team. Our database is used for anything you have not replaced.
